Wednesday, December 05, 2012
Apple has finally launched its flagship iTunes Store, one of the most popular & humongous digital media download platform in India.
iTunes, a free software from Apple's stable is supported on all Apple devices - iPads, iPhones,iPods.

What's in Store for Indians
The collection is gigantic mounting upto a few millions. All leading Music Honchos - Sony Music, Universal Music, T-Series, Saregama and many more more have come up with music of varying genre & languages.Sony Music has put up more than 0.5 million & Universal around 1.5 million.Besides, podcasts & movies in both standard & HD formats from well-known banners like Yash Raj Films are also available in plenty.Movies are available on rent as well as for download.

How much will it burn the Indian pockets !
Apple has priced its content quite reasonably in India taking it a tough call for contenders. While in US, a single iTunes track costs US $0.99 onward, a music track or song in India costs Rs. 7 onward & an album starts with Rs 70 onward.Movies can be rented for Rs. 80 to Rs. 120 & purchased between Rs.190 to Rs. 490.

The pricing & the brand-value is sure to give competitors in Indian market like, Gaana.com , Saavn.com, Flipkart's Flyte, Amazon, Hungama, a run for money.Industry insiders believe Apple's move would serve as a  rewarding antidote to piracy, but that is for time to tell !
