Windows has an inbuilt PPPoE client which may be
used to connect your DSL Broadband connection to enable you to access internet
only if you intend to use the Broadband in Single-user mode. The prerequisite for
this is your Broadband DSL modem needs to be configured in Bridge mode.
The following steps would help easily setup your
Broadband PPPoE dialer : -
For Windows 7 : -
1. Click on Start menu & then on Control Panel.
2. Click on
Network & Internet icon.
3. Click on
Network and Sharing Center icon.
4. Click on
Set up a New Connection or Network
5.
Select Connect to the Internet.
Click Next.
6. Select
Broadband (PPPoE).
7. Provide
the Broadband username & password as provided by your ISP in the respective
fields & check the field Remember Password.Enter your ISP name in the
Connection Name field. Click Connect.
8. This will create the dialer.To create a
shortcut of the dialer on your Desktop, repeat
Step 1 to Step 3. Then click on
Change adapter settings in left menu.You can find the dialer there. Just drag
it to your Desktop to create a shortcut.
For Windows XP :-
1. Click on Start menu & then on Control Panel.
2. Click on Network Connections icon.
3. In the
Network Connections window, click on Create a New Connection in the left menu.
4. In the New Connection Wizard, click Next.
5. Now
select Connect to the Internet. Click Next.
6. Select Setup my Connection manually. Click
Next.
7. Select Connect using a Broadband connection
that uses a Username and Password.Click Next.
8. In the Connection name field enter ISP
name.(This will be the name PPPoE dialer icon)Click Next.
9. Enter your Broadband Username & password as
provided by your ISP.Click Next.
10. Select Add a shortcut to this connection on my
desktop.Click finish.This sets up your dialer.
For Windows Vista : -
1. Click on Start menu & then on Control panel.
2. Click on Network & Internet icon.
3. Click on Network and Sharing Center.
4. Click on Set up a New Connection or Network
5. Select Connect to the Internet. Click Next.
6. Select Broadband (PPPoE).
7. Provide the Broadband username & password as provided by your ISP in the respective fields & check the field Remember this password.Enter your ISP name in the Connection Name field. Click Connect.
