Tuesday, May 07, 2013
Have you lost access to your Facebook Account or anticipating that it has been hacked and sending out spam ?
To address this issue Facebook has rolled out a new  Account security and recovery feature - Trusted Contacts in which one can take the help of real world pals to recover his/her inaccessible Facebook Account.
Although there are a host of security and account recovery features in place which one can go through by clicking on "Forgot your Password ?" link on the Facebook Homepage, that includes Identifying your Account, using your Gmail Account to reset password, password reset link by email or SMS, security questions and so on, Trusted Contacts adds a social edge.

How to get started with Trusted Contacts
To add trusted contacts, log in to your Facebook account, navigate to Security Settings, then click on Edit in Trusted Contacts then Choose Trusted contacts.
You would then be prompted to add at least 3 friends as your trusted contacts.Make sure they are your close friends whom you can call in case of emergency to recover your account. After you add them, your friends chosen in Trusted contacts would get a notification.
When you indeed need to recover your inaccessible facebook account through Trusted contacts, your friends whom you have granted the privilege would receive a security code each. You need at least 3 of these security codes to unlock our account.
