Error codes in DSL Broadband

Following are some commonly encountered error codes during problems with ADSL broadband (encountered when modem configured in Bridge mode) : -
Error 691 : Username and Password problem.
Reason : Most commonly caused when one attempts to connect broadband with a wrong Broadband username or password. Also, i may be due to disconnection or suspension of your Broadband service.
Solution : Enter your Broadband Username & password correctly n the PPPoE dialer of your desktop before logging in to access Broadband. If you have forgotten your Username & password, contact your ISP for password reset.


Error 678 : The remote computer did not respond in a timely manner.

Reason : Occurs due to any network or configuration problems in the broadband network.
Solution: Check whether the DSL or WAN lamp in your modem is stable.If it is, then it might be a modem configuration or Operating System or drivers problem in your PC.Reconfigure your modem in Bridge mode.If it doesn't work then try re-installing the drivers. It also occurs due to ISPs downtime.

Error 769 : The specified destination is not reachable.

Reason : Occurs due to problems in LAN or  DHCP problems with the modem, i.e. if the mdem can't automatically assign IP address the Client PCs.
Solution : Check whether the LAN cable is connected to the modem at one end and LAN card at the other.Also, check whether the LAN is enabled.Also check whether your LAN is showing "Limited or No Connectivity" with an exclamation mark.If so the TCP/IP settings needs to be re-configured.

Error 651 : The modem or conecting device has reported an error.

Reason : Occurs when there is aproblem with modem configuration or the modem hangs.
Solution : Power off and then power on the modem.If it doesn't work reconfigure the mdem in bridge mode.

Error 711 : Cannot load Remote Access Service Connection Manager

Reason : It may be due to disabling of Remote Access Connection Manager.
Solution: Go to Start -> in the search bar, type "services.msc" without inverted commas.Find Remote Access Connection Manager, double click on it, select Startup type as Automatic and Start the service.

Error 676 : The phone line is busy.

Reason : Modem configuration problem.
Solution : Login in to your modem, reset it to Default or Factory settings & then configure the modem in bridge mode.
