Dial *99# for Mobile Banking with Interbank Mobile Payments Service

National Payment Corporation Of India (NPCI) has launched USSD  based Mobile banking services christened Interbank Mobile Banking Services (IMPS) on GSM service.Mobile subscribers can access their bank accounts through a unique USSD code *99#.The concept is to bring integrity & convenience in Mobile banking by providing it on a common platform.



How to use : The user has to dial *99# from his mobile upon which a prompt for entering 7-digit MMID ( Moble Money Identifier) will appear.The MMID can be obtained from the respective bank after registration & would be mapped to the user's mobile no.Daily transaction limit is Rs.5,000 per customer as of now.


Service availability: The service is currently available with state-run BSNL & MTNL with implementation with private telcos in progress.23 banks have been linked with this service.The service only supported in GSM network & not in CDMA.

Charges : The service is free. No charges are being levied on the customer presently.

Benefits : The system is USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) based, a unique USSD *99# has been allotted by DoT for India-wide usage, so there is no need for any application installation on the mobile & can be accessed on the most basic mobile handsets.
No use of SMS, calls or internet from your mobile.
